In depth

Verdict

Canford Belle ran a nice race at Newcastle behind Table Manners on Saturday evening and a similar effort here would certainly see her on the premises. Schottische produced a surprise with a long-odds success at Southwell recently and has definite claims of a follow-up as he is already a course and distance winner here and jockey David Parkes has been among the winners in recent weeks. Pivotal Dream came good at the 30th time of asking over course and distance recently and it will be interesting to see if that victory has buoyed his confidence. Bassino is a likely improver after only a handful of runs but the choice is SIMPLY CLEVER. He is not the most consistent but is useful enough at this level on a going day. Tom Eaves, who partnered him to his sole success to date, is back in the plate.
