Verdict

Alsvinder won last year’s renewal but is 5lb higher today having also scored at Kempton last month with Jashma finishing down the field and Captain Lars in third. The latter has enjoyed a successful season and may not have finished winning yet judged on his latest second here while Verne Castle bids for a hat-trick raised a further 5lb having landed a recent double at Chelmsford. Leo Minor is not completely dismissed in a competitive sprint but BOWSON FRED is looking to end a long losing run and, after going close in a higher grade at Catterick last time, Mick Easterby’s charge could be the one to side with.
