In depth

Verdict

Prime Defender looks the best proposition here, Kompete and Onenightinlisbon could provide most danger. The Barry Hills trained colt looks the class act here having won his Sandown maiden in great style before taking on top class opposition. He will find this a lot less taxing than his last outing in the Dewhurst and if he handles the surface there is no way he should be beaten. Kompete also takes a drop in class having run well in a Listed event last time out. She is also having her first run on the all-weather, but looks to be the main danger to the selection. If neither of these act on the surface Onenightinlisbon, who ran well in a good race at Lingfield last time, should be the one to take advantage. The rest seem to have plenty to find and so we return to Prime Defender as the likely winner.
