An inauspicious finale can go to Sion Hill, who is 6lb better off with Charlottebutterfly from the last time they met and is fancied to reverse the form. The Jailer won a seller at Bath in good style earlier in the week and, along with Linden's lady is respected. However, both have yet to win on this surface and come here with a bit more to prove. Charlottebutterfly goes well on the artificial surfaces and is likely to be kept busy over the next few weeks. She is a game mare that thrives on her racing and can virtually be guaranteed to run her race - no mean feat at this level. However, Sion Hill has an obvious chance of getting one over on his old rival on these terms and, even though he is a long standing maiden, he will rarely get a better chance to show why he cost 240,000gns as a foal. Expectations were quickly lowered for him after he left Sir Michael Stoute, but going on the theory that every dog has his day, the mount of Jamie Spencer is no forlorn hope of finally coming good here.
