In depth

Verdict

A notably low grade start to proceedings and York Cliff is our token selection against Dushstorm and Bundle Up. The hold up performer was given too much to do in a recent plating contest at the track and while winning isn't something he does on a regular basis, York Cliff is at least from a stable in form. Dushstorm is a regular winner in the grade and has to be respected. The handicapper has made life difficult for him outside of this sphere. Bundle Up takes a drop in class. She shapes as if the trip is gettable and the market is accordingly noted. Zalkani needs no introduction to regular watchers of racing at Dunstall Park. He makes a return from a sizeable absence. Saameq is in a similar situation tonight. Singleb makes a debut for George Baker having left David Barron. Soundbyte looked to have appreciated a drop into the grade and has to go on the shortlist in spite of all the headgear and aids he carries. Bainisteoir searches for a maiden success. Tried over a mile, it will be interesting to see what happens over the extra four furlongs. Blazing Mask is exposed as moderate although she ran a career best when splitting better horses in a recent event at Hamilton. York Cliff gets the nod.
