Verdict

A competitive race in prospect despite the small field and now back over 1m 4f and at this venue COUNTRY ROAD can return to winning ways. Tony Carroll's four-year-old was the six-length winner of a seller over course and distance in September and went close to following up over 1m 6f next time. He is 1lb higher than that defeat this afternoon but he has remained in decent form in claimers and is selected. Houston Dynimo is very interesting. He won over course and distance in February and is now 1lb below that mark, so a repeat success would be no shock. Trachonitis showed signs of a return to form last time, while Archie Rice represents an in-form yard and looks well handicapped but has so far failed to produce his best away from turf.
