Verdict

Marco Botti has his string in great order and CAPTAINRISK can come good here, while Moonbeam Dancer might prove the biggest danger. The selection has not been seen since finishing runner-up in a Yarmouth maiden in July, and although the form has not worked out as well as it might, there are reasons to believe he will win this. The step up in trip will be a plus, that first racecourse experience is another positive, and the yard's excellent recent run is a big boost, so those factors add up to make him the selection. Moonbeam Dancer had a quiet enough debut over course and distance last month, staying on pretty well when the race had gone. She is entitled to come on quite a bit for that so don't discount her. Bushveld has shown nothing on bottomless ground in two starts so far but it would be foolish to write off Mark Johnston's colt on this vastly different surface, and over further, so watch the market for any clues. Appropriate is the most interesting debutant, and this looks an ideal starting trip for the William Haggas-trained filly, while we can also expect more from Ultimate this time around. Captainrisk is taken to score.
