Verdict

Handicap king Reg Hollinshead might be able to notch up another win here with DOUBTFUL SOUND, while there are a number of dangers. Doubtful Sound likes it here having won a claimer over course and distance last month, and he went close here last time behind Bazguy, who has come out and run well again since. With useful 7lb claimer Andrea Atzeni up, he can weave his way through and get his nose back in front. Splash The Cash remains on a competitive mark and has a similarly wide draw, but we anticipate a good run. Tangerine Trees won a maiden here last month and was not disgraced in handicap company last time but might just have too much weight. Princess Valerina has gone up just 3lb for winning a soft ground Folkestone handicap last month and is kept to this trip. She acts on the Polytrack so is respected. Fast Freddie won a poor handicap last time over 5f, but he did it well enough and is entitled to get involved in his follow-up bid with the yard in good shape. Royal Challenge has gone up 10lb over the course of two wins and two seconds of late and just looks held by the assessor and we'll take a chance on Doubtful Sound.
