Verdict

RECESSION PROOF can make amends for a narrow defeat last time and he is chosen ahead of Aladdin's Lamp and First Queen. Simon Callaghan's colt finished a close third behind Digger Derek last week; form which has since been franked by the second Mykingdomforahorse who won well at Yarmouth on Tuesday. The selection has rock solid form claims and he should prove hard to beat. Aladdin's Lamp disappointed last time but he got out-paced from his poor draw that day at Pontefract and now that he is back on the all-weather from a fair draw he can not be ruled out, especially as he won well at Kempton two runs ago. First Queen ran well enough last time at Kempton to suggest she can win races before too long, although we feel she may have to settle for a minor role tonight. Perfect Friend would have claims on the pick of her form and she tackles this trip for the first time tonight. However, Recession Proof is an improver and he sets the standard for the others.
