In depth

Verdict

None of these have ever won on the track so the initiative is still firmly with DUBAI HILLS, who has won his last four starts at Southwell going up a massive 30lb in the ratings as a consequence. Sioux Rising has run well on her two latest starts on Polytrack though both have been over 6f and that looks her trip. Captain Ramius looks the main threat as he came back from a break to run very well over 6f at Lingfield nine days ago and he once looked a very promising performer on this surface. Below Zero made little impression on his all-weather debut at Kempton in November but it's always a risk dismissing one of Mark Johnston's.

Formwatch

Below Zero (IRE) 5-1 (9-5) Slight lead at fast pace but pressed, headed 2f out, weakened over 1f out, eased when well beaten inside final furlong, 11th of 12, 8l behind Sutton Veny (8-10) at Kempton 6f hcp 0-95 (3) pol in Nov.

Captain Ramius (IRE) 7-1 (9-3) Held up, ridden and headway 1f out, switched right and stayed on near finish, not reached leaders, 5th of 12, 1 1/2l behind Five Star Junior (9-4) at Lingfield 6f hcp 0-95 (3) pol.

Dubai Hills 3-10fav (10-0) Raced keenly, slight lead, in command over 2f out, eased final 100 yards, won at Southwell 7f hcp 0-75 (5) fbs in Jan beating Conry (9-6) by 2l, 4 ran.

Sioux Rising (IRE) 15-2 (9-6) Closup in 5th on inside, headway over 2f out, disputing lead and every chance over 1f out, stayed on same pace inside final furlong, 3rd of 12, 1l behind Ebraam (9-7) at Kempton 6f hcp 0-85 (4) pol.
