Verdict

On past form, War Poet would be a threat to all in this grade but he again failed to fire on his reappearance at Doncaster and his ability to handle the Polytrack will have to be taken on trust. Back Burner took the notable scalp of Stand Guard at Southwell last time when LICENCE TO TILL was only fourth. But Mark Johnston's charge was having his first run in almost a year that day and didn't appear to enjoy the Fibresand. The switch to Polytrack could well see this formerly useful sort turning the tables on the winner. Dazzling Valentine was well beaten at Leicester on Saturday.
