Verdict

Paul Nicholls has a 22% strike-rate with bumper horses at the track and VERTIGE DORE can enhance that further by beating Point Blank. The Champion trainer's recruit has his first start for the yard having previously been in the care of Willie Mullins and the switch to better ground is expected to help him fulfil undoubted potential. Market support would be encouraging but he has the ability to land this anyway and can take care of Point Blank. AP McCoy's mount attracted a lot of money on debut, an indication that he's showing plenty at home, and if the son of Oscar has learnt from that he'll go close. Don Pooleoni represents a shrewd outfit and needs monitoring for support, Misstaysia has experience of the course and can do better while tongue-tied Bullring and the improving Cruise In Style are others with claims but Vertige Dore gets our vote.
