In depth

Verdict

Oumeyade will take all the beating in a race run in memory of his owner's wife. Orpen Wide could be the one to chase him home. The selection has shown improved form since returning from a short absence and only narrowly failed to win on consecutive days at Stratford last month. He's had a little longer to recover this time and can make light of his revised mark. Orpen Wide continues to confound expectations and comes here on the back of a popular success at Cartmel. He's always going to be vulnerable to better handicapped horses but can be relied upon to run his race. The handicapper knows where he is with the consistent Borora, Kilrogan and Lord Jay Jay have a little to find in this company and He's The Gaffer, who is useful on his day, isn't the easiest to predict. This is best left to the progressive Oumeyade.
