The top three on the card are the ones to concentrate on here, with our vote going to Musally to outpoint both Ela La Senza and Reasonable Reserve. Musally has been rewarded for some consistency in recent months with wins at Ludlow and Southwell, both over 2m 5f, in his last three starts. In between he was tried without success over 3m 2f at Huntingdon, but rather than suggesting he did not stay there, it was merely a case of being beaten by better horses on the day. Though we are taking a little on trust the fact that three miles will suit better, it seems to be a reasonable assumption and with ground to suit again he can get home and win. Ela La Senza is another rising up the handicap after some good efforts, including a two and a half mile win here last month and a decent effort when second last time over a quarter of a mile further. However, a 7lb rise for finishing second there looks a little harsh and that should just anchor him here. Top weight Reasonable Reserve enjoyed a course and distance success last time, but has gone up almost a stone as a result. A 6lb rise might have made him interesting here, but the handicapper would already appear to have his measure and a place in the frame in most likely for the gelding until he drops down the weights. So the vote then, goes to Musally.
