Verdict

Invocation would probably have beaten Nachi Falls at Newton Abbot last time had he jumped the last cleanly. He's getting closer and this affords another good opportunity but CLIFFS OF DOVER might be the first juvenile winner of the season for Paul Nicholls. The Ditcheat handler will be unleashing a strong team of young hurdlers in the coming months and he's inherited this son of Canford Cliffs from Charlie Hills, for whom he showed promise over middle-distance. Pongo Twistleton was placed over 1m4f on the Flat and Aristocles showed promise at Market Rasen after winning over 1m6f at Nottingham so can't be ignored.
