Verdict

Peephole, Hill of Almhuim and Fonic Rock is a tentative shortlist here and Peephole may prove to be the best of the bunch. Hill of Almhuim looks interesting because although he has been beaten in sellers recently they have been on an easier surface. His earlier efforts on a faster surface were encouraging, twice finishing third in decent handicaps and a return to that form would make him very competitive in this company. Fonic Rock is not the most consistent of individuals but has ability, indicated by finishing second in a couple of handicaps during the summer. Still a maiden, Fonic Rock takes a drop in class here, and having run well over the course and distance may go close. The last time Peephole ran in this grade he won at Nottingham in May and although he has disappointed in handicaps since, he may well benefit from returning to selling company. He is stepping up in trip but a chance is taken that his stamina will last out. Peephole can see off his rivals.
