Verdict

Count Ceprano is sure to be popular in the finale but he looks eminently opposable although finding the one to beat him is not quite so straightforward. Jeff Pearce's experienced campaigner ran on well to double his tally on grass on his twenty fourth outing and remains well enough handicapped from a 4lb higher mark. He has struggled to back up races in the past and appeals as one to take on at a short price. Summers Target has to prove that this trip is within his reach but it could bring about some improvement from Exopuntia although she needs to be forgiven a poor run last time. Bookiebasher Babe and ALFREDTHEORDINARY are both turf maidens but a chance is taken with the latter who has made the frame on a number of occasions. This trip appears to suit him better than the mile over which he ran at Kempton, he's not badly handicapped and should be in the thick of the action at this level.
