In depth

Verdict

George The Second deserves to get his head in front having been placed in his last two starts but he seems well named and may be booked for second at best with preference for another consistent type Smile For Us, who gets the vote over Deserted Prince. The selection should do better returned to six furlongs today, having been outpaced over the minimum trip last time and it is interesting that Jamie Spencer takes over in the saddle. Young Bertie is less exposed than most and could be well handicapped but probably needs to improve, while Forces Sweetheart is entitled to come on for her reappearance run but needs to if she is to trouble the selection. Richard Hannon's lightly raced Tuscany Queen and the top weight Royal Tavira Girl are both lightly raced and have to be considered along with Southwell banded stakes winner Teddy Monty, who has a nice racing weight. Deserted Prince probably found the ground too testing on his return and could be of interest but Smile For Us has solid claims and he gets the vote.
