Verdict

FURMIGADELAGIUSTA gets the vote here as a progressive son of Galileo from a stable in fair form; his main danger may be Friston Forest although it would be unwise to rule out Warringah and Meshtri. The selection comes here chasing a hat-trick following wins at the track and also at Pontefract on his latest outing. There he beat Drumfire who wasn't disgraced in the Princess Of Wales's Stakes on Thursday and with more improvement to come over a trip that should suit, he is hard to take on. Friston Forest was third in the Northumberland Plate and he is a proven weight carrier; he has form on any ground and the stable are in good form. Drill Sergeant steps up in trip and he is a lover of quick ground, as is Warringah who is a relentless galloper and a close relation of Hi Calypso. Sugar Ray has not fired since joining Godolphin and has work to do with their selection on their Pontefract run, whilst Meshtri should appreciate the return to a quicker surface following his flop at Newcastle on soft ground. Bulwark stays very well, Hits Only Vic was a gallant eighth in the Northumberland Plate where the slow gallop didn't suit but he needs rain, whilst the progressive Quai D'Orsay showed loads of guts last time out and this longer trip could feasibly suit as he is closely related to horses who were very strong stayers. Once again another interesting but devilishly tricky handicap, where we will side with Furmigadelaguista.
