In depth

Verdict

Gallas has already done enough to suggest he is capable of winning a race like this, and Brian Meehan's colt is selected ahead of Back At De Front, Intitnice and Bowling Along. Gallas is a cheaply-bought son of Charnwood Forest who takes a drop in class having finished a fair fifth of 20 from an unfavourable draw at Windsor last week, behind the useful Privy Seal. Kevin Darley is a positive jockey booking and he rates a confident selection here. Richard Hannon's Back At De Front takes a huge drop in class having finished down the field behind the Royal Ascot-bound La Cucaracha on her sole start so far, and this Cape Cross filly could easily be capable of better. Intitnice has shown glimmers of ability in three starts so far, but Alan Berry's colt was only fifth in a similar race at Haydock last time, so a bigger danger could be Bowling Along, who was bought in for 5,500 guineas after winning a poor seller at Catterick last time.
