Verdict

Animated showed promise first time out at Hamilton but the David Nicholls-trained colt may struggle to give weight away all round and preference is for My Valerina, who is taken to make the most of the weight that she receives with Wi Dud maybe the best of the remainder. The selection has the advantage of experience over her rivals and has solid form as well so, in receipt of weight, she looks worth chancing. James Given has his string in good form so Mambo Spirit has to be respected although lack of a previous run has to be of concern, as it could be for Peter Chapple-Hyam's Hurricane Spirit. David Barron has his string in good order but he is hardly know for his success with first time out youngsters so Imperial Beach is probably best watched. Danum Dancer is entitled to improve for his two runs but needs to, while Valley of The Moon gave little cause for optimism on his debut and is another best left out of calculations. Kevin Ryan can do little wrong with his juveniles at present so Wi Dud has to be respected but My Valerina has a fitness and weight advantage and she gets the vote.
