Northern trainers appear to hold a strong hand in this maiden and SWIFT APPROVAL is taken to oblige at the first time of asking. Kevin Ryan's colt was a recent acquisition to the yard at 90,000gns and connections clearly think a lot of him as he holds entries in the Gimcrack and the National Stakes at the Curragh. Intiwin has had three starts and with the handicapper rating him at 82, Richard Fahey's colt sets a stiff standard for the rest to aim at. Kifaaya made a promising debut at Haydock on tacky going and Mark Johnston's colt is sure to have come on for the experience. The stable's Water Thief is also likely to have learnt plenty for his visit to Epsom Downs while Daniel Kubler posted a surprise by saddling last year's winner and it would be an even greater shock were Thewaythewindblows to win this.
