Verdict

A couple of newcomers, Home Cummins and Muradif, are interesting on paper and will need careful monitoring in the betting exchanges with the latter of especial interest. The Haggas colt is a son of Zebedee who has made such a cracking start to his stallion career with his first crop and is likely to emerge as the main danger to MISTER UNIVERSE. The Johnson colt went close to making a winning debut here last time when just inched out over this trip and should be capable of going one better with that run under his belt. The obvious concern is the form of the Mark Johnston stable at this venue as their strike rate at York is the lowest of any track in the UK at a lowly 4 per cent. Bonds Choice was fifth behind the selection on debut and should improve for the run without reversing placings.
