Michael Schumacher is preparing to bid farewell to Formula 1 for a second time with this weekend's race in Brazil bringing an end to a remarkable and record-breaking career.
Team Principal Ross Brawn was key to luring Schumacher out of retirement when Mercedes took control of his team in 2009, having helped guide the German his record-breaking seven titles. "Having worked with Michael for the majority of the 21 seasons of his career, I feel that he is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, Formula One driver of all time, and we wish him the very best with his future plans," Brawn said. "It will be an emotional weekend for everyone in the team." Those sentiments were echoed by team-mate Nico Rosberg, who partnered Schumacher throughout his comeback. "The weekend will be a special one for our team as Michael is retiring after three years with us," the German said. "I wish him all the best for the future and it was a great experience for me to race with and against him."
