Japanese driver Kazuki Nakajima has admitted he could be open to a move to Toyota at the end of next season. Both Nakajima and Nico Rosberg have signed contract extensions with Williams despite a poor year for the Grove-based outfit. However, Rosberg has already said he will "re-evaluate" his future if Williams have another poor season in 2009. Nakajima has also done nothing to dismiss suggestions that he could join the Japanese manufacturer in 2010. Toyota - who provide Williams with engines - has long supported Nakajima as part of its Young Drivers Program. "Well, if Toyota perform well next year then it could very well be an option," he told the official Formula One website. "I am quite happy with Williams, but it could be a good fit to see a Japanese driver in a Japanese team. "But let's wait and see how '09 develops before making plans for 2010." Contesting his first full F1 season, Nakajima picked up nine points this year, his best performance being a sixth-place finish in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. Nevertheless, the 23-year-old said he was happy with his progression during the course of the year. "If I have to judge my first season then I would say that I have improved a lot over the course of those 18 races," he said. "Even though the car was not really there at the end of the season, I think I was improving. "But for sure there is room to enhance my performance in '09. I am hoping to improve my qualifying, but also the race and pit stops could need an overhaul."
