The RadioShack Nissan-Trek duo have endured a disastrous 2012 season which saw Andy suffer a broken pelvis midway through the campaign - forced him to miss both the Tour de France and Olympics - before Frank failed a drugs test in July.
Frank faces a two-year ban as he awaits a ruling from the Luxembourg anti-doping agency after his case was heard last week.
Andy was awarded with the yellow jersey for the 2010 Tour over the summer when Alberto Contador was stripped of his victory for doping.
"I advised them to quit cycling," their father Johnny Schleck told the French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche.
"Frank is depressed. He spent a lot of money on medical analysis and lawyers fees trying to prove his innocence. This is not a life."
