Sally Brown told Game Changers how her love for sprinting first developed when she was nine-year's old.

The 19-year-old from Northern Ireland made her international debut at the age of 15 when she was selected to run for Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the IWAS Junior World Championships in the Czech Republic.

"I got into sprinting in primary school when I was about nine-years-old, so starting running and loved it," she said. "I kept going and going and it was one of those things that I found that I was really good at and just wanted to keep doing it.

Brown then made her senior debut at the IPC Athletics World Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand, where she won bronze in the T46 200m.

She explained how overjoyed she was with her achievement.

"It was my first major competition so I was very, very nervous. I went in there with kind of no idea what to expect and got a bronze medal which was crazy for the age of 15. It was amazing.

"Sport was one of the things I was good at and I found that I wasn't different in that you know I was able to do it the same as everybody else.

"That was one thing I fitted into quite easily and I think that is why I loved it so much. It was definitely a big confidence booster for me which was what I needed."
