Carlos Correa proposed to his girlfriend after winning the World Series

Watch as Carlos Correa asked girlfriend Daniella Rodriguez, a former Miss Texas USA, to marry him following Houston Astros' maiden World Series triumph. She said 'Yes'.

The 23-year-old wasted little time in popping the question as his team-mates celebrated on the pitch at Dodger Stadium following the Astros' 5-1 victory over their Los Angeles hosts and a 4-3 Fall Classic success.

Correa embraced Rodriguez and then dropped to one knee before a scrum of fans and media.

"Daniella Rodriguez, will you make me the happiest man in the world? Will you marry me?" Correa asked.

Rodriguez put her hands to her mouth and replied "Oh my god" before saying yes.

Correa later revealed that the thought of proposing had added to the stress of the occasion.

"It was double pressure. I was just waiting it out and we did it," he said. "I didn't have a Plan B so I'm glad we won."

The shortstop, like several of his colleagues, also dedicated the World Series win to storm-ravaged Houston and his native Puerto Rico.

"We were able to accomplish the dream," Correa said. "To be able to bring joy and happiness to their lives is special in this moment."
