Paul Pierce scored 29 points as the Brooklyn Nets edged out Miami 96-95 for their third straight win over the Heat this season.

Mirza Teletovic backed up Pierce with 17 points off the bench for the Nets, who have a perfect 5-0 record against the Heat this season and pre-season. Chris Bosh scored 24 points for the Heat, taking him past the 15,000 career mark.

Blake Griffin's big day helped the Los Angeles Clippers to their ninth straight win, 111-98 over their Pacific Division rival Golden State Warriors.

Griffin had 30 points and 15 rebounds, while Danny Granger contributed 18 points from the bench.

Patty Mills had 15 points off the bench to lead six San Antonio players in double figures as the Spurs beat the Portland Trail Blazers 103-90. Damian Lillard led all scorers with 23 for the Blazers.

Misery

Rudy Gay scored 27 points to help the Sacramento Kings win 115-98 and heap further misery on the Philadelphia 76ers, who fell to their 18th straight defeat.

Carmelo Anthony scored 34 points as the New York Knicks - who also announced Phil Jackson as their new president of basketball operations on Wednesday night - beat the Boston Celtics 116-92.

Al Jefferson led the Charlotte Bobcats to a 98-85 win over the Washington Wizards with 26 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Phoenix Suns 110-101, the Toronto Raptors were 101-87 winners over the Detroit Pistons and the Memphis Grizzlies edged out the New Orleans Pelicans 90-88.

There were also wins for the Dallas Mavericks and the Denver Nuggets.
