The Charlotte Bobcats clinched the second NBA play-off berth in franchise history with a 96-94 overtime victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night.
Al Jefferson scored seven of his 24 points in overtime and pulled down 15 rebounds while Kemba Walker contributed 20 points and seven assists to get the Bobcats into the post-season for the first time since 2010 - despite Kyrie Irving's career-high 44-point haul for the Cavs.
The Chicago Bulls claimed their fifth consecutive win with a 96-78 triumph over the Washington Wizards. DJ Augustin poured in 25 points, while Joakim Noah had 21 and 12 rebounds.
Toronto kept the pressure on the Bulls in the fight for the Eastern Conference's number three seed thanks to a 102-98 success against the Milwaukee Bucks, Greivis Vazquez scoring 26 points and DeMar DeRozan 23 as the Raptors produced a franchise-record 21st road victory.
Elsewhere, Rodney Stuckey's 26 points off the bench propelled the Detroit Pistons to a 115-111 win over the Boston Celtics, Deron Williams led six players in double figures as the Brooklyn Nets toppled the Philadelphia 76ers 105-101 and Arron Afflalo scored 18 points in the Orlando Magic's 100-92 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
