Stephen Curry was in scintillating form as Golden State trounced Houston 115-80 to move within one more victory of reaching their first NBA finals in 40 years.
Curry notched 40 points to help the California franchise take a 3-0 lead in their best-of-seven clash in the Western Conference finals.
Golden State were never really under any threat as they opened a 30-18 advantage by the end of the first quarter, and had extended their lead to 25 points by the half-way stage.
Game four in Houston is on Monday when Golden State could make it to the finals for the first time since 1975 when they emerged victorious.
Curry was unstoppable, collecting seven three-pointers to break the NBA record for posting most threes in the play-offs in one season with 64.
James Harden finished with 17 points as the Rockets lost three straight games for the first time all season.
A happy Curry said: "We understand it's a special moment, it's just we're wrapped up in our day to day grind of preparing for games and going out and exerting all the effort we need to make this story happen.
"So it's kind of hard to remove yourself from those emotions,” added Curry who had pocketed 37 of his points by the end of the third quarter.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised Curry: "Just a tremendous performance. I don't think we've seen anybody this quick, with the ability to create space. With this kind of fearlessness and confidence. He's really something."
