The results set up a repeat of last year's play-off final - won by Newcastle - and this season's cup final, which was won by Leicester.
It was not completely plain sailing for either despite healthy advantages from the first leg - with the Riders needing to rally from 15 points down against Plymouth, while Newcastle had to rely on their first-leg lead as they lost on the night to the Surrey Heat.
The Riders - seeking a treble after claiming the cup and the regular-season crown - rallied for a 76-60 win which gives them a 156-126 aggregate victory; Pavol Losonsky leading the way with 21 points.
There was nothing quite so dramatic for Newcastle, but they were beaten 96-92 on the night before progressing 202-178 on aggregate.
Frank Holmes had 35 points for Surrey, while Kareem Maddox led Newcastle through with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
