Johnson made eight of his three-pointers in the third quarter, matching the NBA record for the most in a period set by Milwaukee's Michael Redd in 2002.
His 10 three-pointers were also the most in a game this season, surpassing the previous season-high of nine achieved by Houston's Jeremy Lin and Golden State's Stephen Curry.
Johnson poured in 29 points in the third quarter before sitting out the fourth as the Nets had already wrapped up the win.
Andray Blatche also scored 20 points for the Nets and Paul Pierce added 14 off the bench.
James Anderson scored 17 points off the bench and Thaddeus Young added 14 for the 76ers, who were suffering their seventh straight defeat.
LeBron James finished with 30 points, nine rebounds and nine assists despite sitting out some of the second half after twisting his left ankle, in Miami Heat's 117-94 defeat of Utah Jazz.

Dwyane Wade also added 27 points in Miami's 17th straight victory over a Western Conference opponent - the second-longest regular-season streak by an Eastern Conference team in NBA history after Boston won 20 straight over the West during a nine-month span of 1973.
Chris Bosh scored 20 points for the Heat, who moved within two games of the Indiana Pacers for the East lead, while Alec Burks scored 31 points for Utah.
Josh Smith bagged 30 points as the Detroit Pistons inflicted a first home defeat of the season on the Pacers with a 101-96 success.
Blake Griffin scored 27 points, hitting 11 of 15 free throws, as the Los Angeles Clippers cruised to a 115-92 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
Jared Sullinger had 24 points and 11 rebounds, including a tie-breaking three-pointer with 2:22 left that helped Boston Celtics hold off the Minnesota Timberwolves 101-97.
