Tyson Fury has declared he would like to stand in the political ring by becoming a Member of Parliament in his Lancashire home town.
The undefeated heavyweight currently has time on his hands after his world title showdown with Wladimir Klitschko was postponed due to a calf injury sustained by the Ukrainian.
Fury said in a series of Tweets it was his ambition to fight for the constituency of Morecambe and Lunesdale, claiming he would be "the best MP ever".
The 27-year-old took to the social network site to announce his plans to run against current Conservative MP David Morris at the 2020 General Election.
He wrote on Twitter: "Wouldn't mind being the MP for Morecambe, vocal and controversial something this town needs to pump some life back in to her".
He added he wanted to make Morecambe a "better place" by tackling homelessness and drug and alcohol abuse and would take to the streets to talk to residents.
Another tweet said: "Vote Tyson Fury MP for Morecambe, The best MP ever, making Morecambe a better place to live and visit. Discipline and respect."
He later wrote: "Would Tyson Fury get your vote for MP for Morecambe?"
One Twitter follower @chloearmstrong1 backed his bid, writing: "If @Tyson-Fury ecomes an MP I'm moving to Morecambe" which he later retweeted.
Last week he donned a Batman outfit at a press conference in the run-up to his showdown with Klitschko.
However, just two days later Klitschko announced the fight was postponed after he suffered an injury in training.
