Jeff Horn defeats Gary Corcoran in Australia to retain the WBO welterweight title
Wednesday 13 December 2017 13:28, UK
Jeff Horn stopped Britain’s Gary Corcoran to make a successful first defence of his world title on Wednesday.
Horn forced an 11th round finish when the referee saved Corcoran, who had a bad cut above his left eye, at the advice of his corner to retain the WBO welterweight championship in his home country of Australia.
It was Horn's first outing since he shocked Manny Pacquiao to win the belt in front of 50,000 fans at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium.
Horn, who is now unbeaten in 19 fights, was leading on all three scorecards before beating Corcoran (17-2) inside the distance.
Horn is hoping his latest victory sets up a Las Vegas fight against pound-for-pound supremo Terence Crawford.
You can watch Katie Taylor against Jessica McCaskill, Martin J Ward versus Juli Giner and Conor Benn, Lawrence Okolie, Josh Kelly and Joe Cordina in action at York Hall live from 6pm this Wednesday on Sky Sports Action.
