Brook vs Rabchenko: Would Kell Brook defeat Amir Khan if they fought now?

Kell Brook's ultimate goal is a blockbuster showdown against Amir Khan but who would win that fantasy fight?

Watch Brook's comeback in the super-welterweight division against Sergey Rabchenko on Saturday, live on Sky Sports from 7.30pm.

Would Brook knock Khan out? Or could Khan take advantage of Brook's past injuries? Our experts debated it…

Kell is my boy, but I can't say Kell, because you don't know how the last two defeats have affected him. I can't say Amir Khan, because I don't know how the time off has affected him.

In the first place, I would have said Amir and then I would have said Kell, but now I just don't know.
Johnny Nelson

People would expect me to say Kell, but I can't say Kell. Ask me after Kell and Amir have fought, because if you ask me now, I'll say I don't know.

In the first place, I would have said Amir and then I would have said Kell, but now I just don't know. If it's at welterweight, I would personally say Amir Khan. If it's super-welterweight on what we've had, I would say Kell. But I cannot put my house on it until I have seen them both fight.

Carl Froch

I was going to say this would be a genuine 50-50, but the more I think about it, the more I would go for Brook. Yes, he is on the back of two losses, but we all know how good Gennady Golovkin is. Errol Spence Jr is very, very good too and could dominate the welterweight scene.

After two years out, I just can't see the boy from Bolton doing what I can see Brook doing.
Carl Froch

Yes, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez isn't bad either, but that knockout of Khan was a heavy one. We have seen it in the past as well and after two years out, I just can't see the boy from Bolton doing what I can see Brook doing.

Spencer Oliver

Brook's injuries are the main concern. If you can take the injuries out of the equation, then I think Brook would start as the big favourite, but they are worrying me for Saturday night.

[Khan] would make a fundamental mistake, and Brook would make him pay.
Spencer Oliver

At this stage of both their careers, it's difficult to call who would win right now - the reason being we don't know what Khan's got left and we don't know how Brook's injuries have affected him. If they both come through with flying colours, I would lean towards Brook.

I'm going to go for Brook. I just think his power would win the fight. I think he would get to Khan, who would make a fundamental mistake, and Brook would make him pay. Brook is very clever and I think he would catch him on the counter.

Jamie Moore

Brook has moved up to super-welterweight and I don't think that favours Khan if the fight is made in that division. Kell is naturally the bigger guy and, as it stands at 154lbs, I would have to favour him.

There is always the question mark about [Khan's] chin, but I don't think it's as bad as people think.
Jamie Moore

Amir's skill set is fantastic and there is always the question mark about his chin, but I don't think it's as bad as people think. Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is a tremendous puncher. Jumping up the weights like he did, I don't think that was a big surprise, because 'Canelo' punches so hard and is accurate. That shot would have taken many fighters out.

But I don't think that stands him in good stead for going up to super-welterweight against Kell. Brook has been a natural 154lbs fighter for the last 12 months, and it would definitely favour him at that weight.

Joe Gallagher

Just because we use the same gym, I am not automatically sticking with Amir, but it will be a great fight and one that has to happen. I can't see them having to pick up a world title first, they are just ticking over and we are all waiting.

Joe Gallagher

If you called it now, you have to go with Kell. Amir's been out so long we just don't know. Let's see how he gets on next month but here and now, it has to be Brook, for now.

Jermell Charlo

I don't know what will happen if they fight each other, but they're both easy for me to beat. I fight like a lion, they, especially Brook, are little guys. I stand at 6ft tall, walk around 171-172lbs lean, make 154lbs very easy and I have no need to move up.

I don't know what will happen if they fight each other, but they're both easy for me to beat.
Jermell Charlo

But if Kell's name is always in the running, why isn't Amir's over here then? He has been a good fighter, but I'll have either of them at 154lbs. Maybe in Dubai too. Is Amir up for that?
