Phil Lo Greco plans to “spoil the party” for Amir Khan and rob the opportunity to face Kell Brook.
British rivals Khan and Brook are seemingly on a collision course, if the former can first win on Saturday live on Sky Sports against Lo Greco, who intends to ruin that plan.
"I'm here to spoil the party. I want to beat Khan, come back here, and fight Kell Brook," Lo Greco told Sky Sports.
"Mr. Eddie Hearn, can't wait to meet you. We'll talk after I beat Khan. You have to be gracious and give me a fair deal to come back and fight Brook at 154lbs. Eddie is a smart guy - he's lining up Khan to fight Brook but, once I beat Khan, he'll think 'let me get him to fight Brook'."
Canada's Lo Greco also questioned whether Khan's desire to eventually fight Brook is legitimate.
"Khan is a salesman," Lo Greco said. "He looked for every way out of fighting Brook. Then he fought [Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez] and said: 'at least I fought the middleweight champion'.
"Brook had a belt, back in the day. Eddie Hearn offered you all kinds of money and you declined.
"He doesn't want to fight Kell Brook. He's looking for a way out. If he really wanted to fight Brook, why would he want to get down to 147lbs [to fight me] when Brook is at 154lbs?"
Khan's fight this weekend is his first in two years, since suffering a knockout against 'Canelo', and his first in the UK in five years.
Speaking on Amir Khan: Off Limits, he expressed regret at having jumped two weight divisions to challenge Alvarez.
"There's fights I've wanted, like for example the Floyd Mayweather fight - that was talked about for years and years, and didn't happen," Khan said.
"The Manny Pacquiao fight, which was talked about and didn't happen, so you do kind of fall out of love [with boxing].
"The reason I took the 'Canelo' fight is because I got quite desperate.
"I really wanted a big super fight and I wanted my name up on the Vegas strip. It's always been my dream."
