Gymnasts Luke Folwell and Reiss Beckford secured a one-two for England in the men's all-around at the Commonwealth Games.

In a tight contest for the gold, Folwell scored a total of 85.550 to narrowly beat Beckford by just 0.100 points in Delhi on Wednesday.

Australian Joshua Jefferis finished 0.300 ahead of Max Whitlock to take bronze and deny England a clean sweep of the medals.

There was more gold for England as James Goddard won the men's 200 metres backstroke in the pool and shooters Steve Scott and Stevan Walton claimed victory in the men's double trap pairs event.

Myroslav Dykun won England's first Commonwealth wrestling gold medal since 1986 as he pinned Canadian Jack Bond in the final of the Greco-Roman 66kg class.

The Ukrainian-born 27-year-old had earlier silenced the home crown when he defeated Indian medal hope Sunil Kumar 5-0. He then beat Australia's Cory O'Brien 7-0 in the last four to book his spot in the final.

Meanwhile, Australia continued their dominance at the velodrome with three more gold medals in track cycling events on the third day of competition.

But there was also success for the Home Nations as England, Scotland and the Isle of Man all managed to bag medals.

Woe for Edgar

There was to be no glory for star Scot Ross Edgar, however, as he crashed out of the men's keirin while attempting to keep his hopes alive in the semi-finals.

In his absence, England's David Daniell grabbed the silver medal after being upgraded from third when Malaysia's Awang Azizulhasni was disqualified after crossing the line first.

Another Malaysian, Josiah Ng, took the title as it was deemed that Awang impeded his rivals, as Australia's 100 per cent gold medal record on the track was finally ended.

Australia did claim gold in the women's team sprint but Scotland duo Jenny Davis and Charline Joiner secured the silver medal.

"It feels amazing. This time last year I'd never have though I'd come to the Commonwealth Games, let alone win a silver medal. We're really happy about that," Joiner said.

Australia then took their gold medal tally at the velodrome to six in seven as Cameron Meyer dominated the 160-lap men's points race.

Two British riders followed as England's George Atkins took silver ahead of Manxman Mark Christian. Sam Harrison of Wales had to settle for fourth.
