Scotland clinched their second swimming gold medal at the Commonwealth Games as Hannah Miley claimed the 400 metres individual medley title.
The European champion held off the challenge of Australian Samantha Hamill on the final freestyle leg to set a new Games record of 4 minutes 38.83 seconds.
Keri-Anne Payne finished third to claim another medal for England on the final night of racing at the Dr SP Mukherjee Aquatics Complex.
Miley admitted that Hamill "scared the life" out of her as the Australian began to cut the gap with the finish approaching and was delighted to hang on for the gold.
"It's been great. The time wasn't quite what I expected. It was all about the race, I was really chuffed with the race," she said.
Hurt
"It really hurt in that last 100, I can't ask for any more, it's been a tough couple of days.
"To win Europeans on day one and to finally win Commonwealths on day six, there's stuff I need to improve on, but it's in the bag. I've done it and I hope I can move on and get some more experience and get a bit better."
Miley's father Patrick, who also serves as her coach, revealed that the 21-year old had been ill and on antibiotics at the start of the week.
England's Ellen Gandy grabbed her second medal of the Games as she claimed bronze in the 200m butterfly in a murky Delhi pool.
Gandy managed to overhaul Samantha Hamill in the closing stages and touched in 2:07.75 to add to the silver she won in the 100m butterfly.
Australian Jessicah Schipper took the gold medal ahead of Canadian swimmer Audrey Lacroix with Wales' 100m bronze medallist Jemma Lowe finishing fifth.
Final events
There was another medal for Scotland in the 200m breaststroke as Michael Jamieson just lost out to Australia's Brenton Rickard.
Rickard quickly raced into a comfortable lead but Jamieson began to close in after the halfway point and a tiring Rickard eventually won by only 0.08s.
Daniel Fogg bagged a bronze for England in the 1500m freestyle although he finished almost 10 seconds behind Canadian silver medallist Heerdan Herman, who was beaten to gold by compatriot Ryan Cochrane.
There was also gold for Canada in the 50m freestyle, as Brent Hayden covered the one length in 22.01 ahead of South African duo Roland Schoeman and Gideon Louw.
In the para-swimming, England's Stephanie Millward claimed her second medal of the week by taking silver in the S9 100m butterfly, but finished well behind South African star Natalie du Toit.
The medley relays rounded off the swimming action at the Games, with Australia taking comfortable golds in both the men's and women's 4x100m events.
England's women claimed silver while their men took bronze, as the team finished with a collective 30 medals in the pool.
