A look back at the 2012 World Grand Prix from Dublin

Michael van Gerwen became the youngest ever winner of the World Grand Prix when he staged a thrilling comeback victory over Mervyn King in the 2012 final.

In a battle of youth against experience, the 23-year-old Van Gerwen would take on the seasoned King for the Dublin title.

The Suffolk man had reached the latter stages of a number of major tournaments and appeared to know too much for 'Mighty Mike', who slipped 4-1 behind.

But Van Gerwen stirred himself and the Irish crowd with a red-hot of run of five successive sets and he would seal victory with a sizzling 145 checkout.
