Andy Fordham admits there will not be a warm reunion with Phil Taylor as he prepares to make an emotional return at the World Grand Slam of Darts

Andy Fordham will make an emotional return at the Grand Slam of Darts but has ruled out a friendly reunion with Phil Taylor.

'The Viking' has battled back from health problems to qualify for one of the sport's major tournaments, starting this Saturday, live on Sky Sports.

The 53-year-old had a famous showdown with rival champion Taylor in 2004, but health problems forced him to withdraw from the match while trailing 5-2 against 'The Power'.

Fordham could face Taylor again if he qualifies from his group and retains respect for the 16-time world champion, but admits he is not on good terms with the reigning Grand Slam king.

"It's probably the wrong thing to say, but I don't really like Phil to tell you the truth," Fordham told Sky Sports News HQ. "I don't really get on with Phil.

"Unbelievable dart player. What he's done for darts is just tremendous. Sixteen times world champion just speaks for itself, but unfortunately as a person I don't get on with him."
