Sebastian Vettel is closing in on Michael Schumacher's record and is 6/1 with Sky Bet to win in India.
World champion looking for win No.11 in current campaign
Sebastian Vettel is closing in on Michael Schumacher's record of 13 wins in a season and is 6/1 with
Sky Bet to move a step closer in India this weekend.
The Red Bull driver has won 10 races so far this year and needs to take victory in the remaining three races, in India, Abu Dhabi and Brazil, to match his compatriot's record, which he set in 2004 at Ferrari.
The two-time world champion is
6/5 to win at Uttar Pradesh on Sunday while Schumacher, the man he is trying to usurp, is 100/1.
Vettel's team-mate Mark Webber is currently winless in the 2011 Driver's Championship - he is 6/1 to end that streak at the weekend.
Vettel was 9/4 to win the Korean GP after starting second on the grid but brilliantly overtook Lewis Hamilton, who was 5/4 for victory, on the first lap to cruise home and claim his 10th win of the year.
Fastest lap
He is, once again, favourite to get the fastest lap too at 11/4, although he is 6/1 not to be a classified finisher in India.
Hamilton managed to break Red Bull's fantastic season-long run of 15 straight pole positions with a fantastic lap in qualifying three in Korea.
The McLaren driver is
3/1 to start from the front of the grid this weekend while Vettel remains the 4/5 favourite to be the fastest qualifier and Jenson Button and Webber are 5/1 and 6/1 respectively.
Button and Hamilton are hard to split in the betting and after beating his McLaren team-mate for the first time in five races in Korea, the latter is the 4/5 favourite in a race match bet between the two drivers, with Button available at even money.
Hamilton is 7/2 to win the inaugural Indian GP at the Buddh International Circuit whilst his fellow Brit is slightly bigger in the betting, at 4/1.
Felipe Massa has been the most popular selection with
Sky Bet customers, he is 100/1 to win the Indian GP, his biggest price in the run up to the race weekend all season.
The Brazilian has not finished on the podium all season whilst his Ferrari colleague Fernando Alonso will be looking to improve on his solitary win in the 2011 season; he is 7/1 to win.
Sky Bet's F1 trader Chris Spicer said: "Punters keep coming for Massa at 100/1 and the two McLarens have also been popular, the downforce orientated track looks suited to Red Bull so Mark Webber may be the best selection, a good each way bet at 7/1."
