Former champion insists Brazilian is eager to return
Felipe Massa is "good and motivated to get back as soon as possible", according to Michael Schumacher.
While the majority of the F1 drivers will soon be returning to work following the summer break, Massa will remain at home in Brazil as he continues to recovery from his Hungarian qualifying accident.
Massa suffered head trauma that included skull fractures and a brain concussion when he was hit on the helmet by a spring that had come loose from a rival's car.
It is not yet known when the 28-year-old will return to F1 action, although Schumacher - who came close to replacing Massa before a neck injury ruled him out - says the Brazilian is determined to get back as soon as possible.
"I am in constant contact with Felipe, not because we are colleagues but because we have been friends privately for a long time," said the seven-time world champion.
"We spoke yesterday and he is good and motivated to get back as soon as possible.
"He is looking forward to getting back into the car. The real positive about this whole thing is that he is so well after this dangerous accident."
