WMSC to decide on Friday whether postponed race will go ahead
Bahrain Grand Prix Organisers insists they are now in a position to host the race after an end to civil unrest in the country.
The event was scheduled to be the first race of this year's Formula One season on March 13 but anti-government protests led to it being postponed.
But a rescheduling of the grand prix was never ruled out and Bernie Ecclestone
is keen to see it included on the calendar at some point during the year.
The World Motor Sport Council will meet in Barcelona on Friday to decide whether or not the race should go ahead.
Zayed Rashid Al Zayani, chairman of the Bahrain International Circuit, says the Bahrain International Circuit is now ready to hold the race whenever it is possible.
"We feel we are in position to have that event back," he told the
Gulf Daily News.
"Things have calmed down tremendously in Bahrain. Life is back to normal. We are happy to have the race anytime, really."
