2013 Chinese GP, Practice Two: Felipe Massa edges out Kimi Raikkonen in tight session

Brazilian impresses on short and long runs as Merc lose advantage

Felipe Massa continued his renaissance in form in Practice Two ahead of the Chinese GP as Ferrari and Lotus responded to Mercedes' early-weekend pace in Shanghai.

That incident restricted Perez to just 16 laps, but this was still 11 more than Marussia rookie Max Chilton who ran into more sustained trouble. The Briton's Marussia ground to a halt on track in the early stages of the session, and then again in the closing stages after the team thought they had completed repairs, with the repeat problems traced to what team technical chief Pat Symonds confirmed to Sky Sports F1 afterwards was a crack in the car's oil tank.
