Pirelli have denied their decision to restrict the use of their new tyres to Friday's practice sessions at the Canadian GP is related to the ongoing 'Testgate' furore.

In a separate announcement, Pirelli have also confirmed they have 'decided to readjust the tyre compounds' for the GP3 series after 'it emerged that the tyre selection was slightly too aggressive for combative racing.' As a result, a new 'Super Hard' tyre will be used next month at Valencia, the second round of the GP3 season.
