Bookies give Jenson the edge for Korean Grand Prix

As the Formula One season enters its final stages, Jenson Button has been cut to a shorter price than Lewis Hamilton to win a Grand Prix for the first time this season. Ahead of the Korean GP, Button is 4/1 with online betting company Sky Bet in the race winner market, whilst Hamilton is 9/2 which is the first time the 2009 World Champion has been favoured over his team-mate in the pre-race weekend betting. The two drivers are polar opposites at present; Button has re-discovered the magic of 2009, while Hamilton has struggled for consistency and pace in recent weeks. The pair are also joint second favourites for qualifying at 11/2 along with Red Bull driver Mark Webber. Vettel is the favourite for qualifying once again at 8/13 after claiming his sixth consecutive pole position in the last race at Suzuka in the Japanese GP. A win for either of the Red Bull drivers is available at 5/6 with Sky Bet although Mark Webber, who is a 13/2 chance hardly seems worth having onside at present after a win-less 2011 season. The 5/4 available for Vettel to win the Korean GP looks to be a more eye-catching bet after he clinched his second Drivers' Championship last weekend. The Ferrari looked to be handicapped by the cold conditions in Suzuka but Fernando Alonso drove brilliantly to claim second place behind Jenson Button which sees him just behind the Englishman in the 2011 Drivers' Championship. Alonso is 9/2 to win at the Korean International Circuit after winning the inaugural race last year, whilst his struggling team mate, Felipe Massa is 50/1. In the season betting Jenson Button is now the 4/7 favourite to finish second behind Vettel, after moving onto 210 points and extending his lead over Alonso (7/2) to eight points whilst Webber (5/1) and Hamilton (20/1) are quite a way back at 194 and 178 points respectively. Button is 1/12 to beat Hamilton (6/1) in a season match bet. Alonso won a rain-affected race in 2010 after heavy downpours caused carnage at the inaugural Korean GP, and the race was started under safety car conditions although heavy rain is not expected this weekend. The safety car is 8/13 to be deployed while Sky Bet offer 6/5 that the safety vehicle does not make an appearance.
