Former FIA president thinks Alonso and Massa should lose points

Former FIA president Max Mosley thinks that Ferrari should be docked points when they appear before the World Motor Sport Council in September. The Italian team may face punishment from the WMSC after they were adjudged to have used team orders in the German Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso won the race when team-mate Felipe Massa slowed to let him through after the Brazilian appeared to have been given a coded message by race engineer Rob Smedley. Ferrari were given a $100,000 fine by the race stewards but further action could be taken at the WMSC hearing. Mosley thinks that the points they gained during the race at Hockenheim in July should be deducted. "Both cars and both drivers should lose the points they achieved in the German Grand Prix," he told Welt am Sonntag. "I will not make any recommendation, but on the facts at the moment there should have been some sporting sanction and not only a fine." He added: "If a team introduces team orders into a race, heavy penalties should be issued."
