Former world champion Nigel Mansell and Red Bull designer Adrian Newey have received New Year honours.
Former world champion made a CBE
Former world champion Nigel Mansell and Red Bull designer Adrian Newey have been recognised in the New Year honours list.
Mansell, who won the world title in 1992, becomes a CBE. However, the honour comes not for his successes in motorsport but in his role as president of UK Youth.
UK Youth is a charity which provides tools to help build young people's self-esteem, aptitude and skills.
Last year Mansell, 58, helped raise £1million for the cause by cycling 1,375 miles in 13 days around the country.
Newey, the chief technical officer at Red Bull Racing, is made an OBE.
The 53-year-old, who previously enjoyed success with both Williams and McLaren, has been an integral part in the team's world championship wins with Sebastian Vettel in 2010 and 2011.
