Pirelli has selected the tyre compounds it will bring to the three races from Bahrain, with a two-step gap chosen for Spain.
Compounds for Bahrain through Monaco revealed
Pirelli has named its latest selection of tyre compounds for the three Grands Prix from Bahrain, with the super-soft rubber to make its expected first appearance of 2012 at Monaco. With the allocation for the next race in China having previously been confirmed - medium and soft - the following week's race in Bahrain will feature the same two tyre types. However, for Formula 1's return to Europe, the Spanish Grand Prix will see a two-step gap for the first time this season, with the silver-banded hard tyres to be in action alongside the yellow-banded softs. As with previous seasons, Monaco's status as the slowest and twistiest track on the calendar means the two softest compounds in Pirelli's range - soft and super-soft - will be made available to the teams. The 2012 Tyre Choices:Australia: Soft and Medium.
Malaysia: Medium and Hard
China: Soft and Medium.
Bahrain: Soft and Medium.
Spain: Soft and Hard.
Monaco: Supersoft and Soft.
